Maintenance Jewelry Tip Regular
cleaning of jewelry is important to maintaining
the beauty, brilliance and lustre of the pieces. The safest way to
clean jewelry is to use a soft toothbrush with
warm soapy water, rinsing, and thoroughly drying with a soft cotton cloth. Both gold and silver can tarnish from water.
When storing jewelry, try not to let the pieces touch to avoid
scratching. If your jewelry comes with its own pouch or box, use it. If
not, small ziploc bags are very effective at not only separating pieces of jewelry but also keeping your necklaces from tangling.

Jewelry Q & A Q. What is the best way to maintain silver jewelry?
A.
For many people, frequent and regular use of their silver jewelry
prevent it from tarnishing. To maintain a silver's shine, use a
mild (phosphate-free) soap and warm water, soak and then gently and
thoroughly dry with a cotton cloth. However, when silver is heavily
tarnished, a gentle silver dip can be used. But, remember to thoroughly
rinse with water and dry subsequent of use. When storing, keep
silver free of tarnish-causing agents such as wool, felt, rubber and
humidity. If you know you will not be wearing the piece for a while,
store in a clear plastic bag separate from other pieces. This helps to
prevent tarnish.
